The Steps in Becoming a Participant

The first step to a successful application is your own appraisal of your suitability. The ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA is the right choice for you if

• you already have an academic degree,
• you have at least five years of work experience, and ideally have, or have had, leadership and budgeting responsibilities,
• you are fluent in English and have experience in an international environment,
• you have your employer's support in doing an MBA (not necessarily financially, but he generally agrees with the idea of you participating in the program and being absent from work),
• you are motivated to start a program which will provide you with a unique international experience, completely new perspectives, new ways of thinking and visionary qualities.
• you are prepared to invest your time and efforts in a highly demanding and at the same time rewarding business program

Subsequently, the selection process has the following steps:

1. First contact
   Meet us at one of our information sessions, at a fair or contact us via phone or e-mail or use our online form.
   Discuss your professional objectives with us and receive a first feedback regarding your suitability.
2. Submission of the application form and supporting materials
   • Application form (download the form for applying at ESSEC here and for applying at Mannheim Business School here)
   • At least two confidential letters of reference (professional evaluations)
   • Personal essays
   • Company support form
   • Copy of previous degree(s), transcripts and diplomas
   • TOEFL scores (please check with the admissions office to clarify if language test is required)
   • Two color, passport-sized photos
   • Non-refundable application fee of € 150
3. Pre-screening of application documents
   You will be contacted within a week to set up the selection interview
4. Selection interview
   Our admissions jury would like to find out more about you, your professional experiences and your motivation through a personal interview. Of course, this interview also gives you the opportunity to discuss again your questions and to ensure that the program meets your expectations.
5. Notification
   Usually you will be informed within two weeks whether you have been admitted to the program.

Please note that participants are admitted to the program on an ongoing basis, there is a limited number of placements in each class. Candidates are therefore encouraged to apply to the program well in advance.
