Entrepreneurial Project (EP)

Boosting Entrepreneurial Potential

One important element of the ESSEC & MANNHEIM EMBA is the entrepreneurial project (EP), where participants and their companies may actively influence the contents of the program. The challenge is to transform ideas into concrete achievements and to apply cross-disciplinary knowledge to a real case.

Participants are free to choose their project subject and format. They may opt for:

  • Consulting projects from one of the participants' companies
  • Creating a new enterprise, launching a product or service and exploring a market

Our faculty, managers and alumni provide counseling and guidelines for the projects, while participants develop their ideas and define the skills needed for the project. The teams are judged by a jury that consists of academics as well as experienced executives.

Vincent Grek, Week-End Executive MBA Class of 2007

"I wanted for several years to follow an Executive MBA course. I was working as a Medical Director in the pharma industry with a very narrow focus. My dream? To create my own pharmaceutical company! However, expert in clinical R&D, I had almost no clue on corporate strategy, finance, supply chain, organization, EU policy, HR ... The ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA gave me all of that. But much more! New friends, new colleagues, new network... Finally, as an entrepreneurial project, I created my company ("Only for children pharmaceuticals" focussing on children medicines) with a Team of the EMBA program and with the input of Professors. My dream came true!"
