Hugo Boss, Prada, Hermès – this is the world of ESSEC & MANNHEIM graduate Atli Saevarsson, who can look back on almost 20 years of experience in the high-end fashion industry.
However, with a Master's degree in Philosophy, Saevarsson at times felt rather "exotic" in this environment and ultimately decided he needed a business management education to complement his professional profile.
His research soon brought him to the ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA program, which appealed to him because of its convenient time formats and the strong emphasis on teamwork: "More than half of the work involved in the program is done in heterogeneous multi-competence teams, adding a whole other layer to the learning experience."
Upon graduation in May 2011, Saevarsson had not only gained the knowledge and confidence to meet future business challenge head on, he had also forged new friendships: "While the lectures certainly provided the business management background I needed, I also learnt a lot from my classmates and made new friends in the process."
And, not even two months out of the program, he was able to advance to his current position of Commercial Director at Hermès Benelux/Nordics.
