Jan Peter Bredehöft, Vice President and General Manager at BASF-YPC Co., Ltd. loves to tackle new challenges, which is why he enjoys his work for BASF so much.
In 2005 he took on his first management role at BASF and as his responsibilities continued to increase, Bredehöft realized that he needed to gain a deeper understanding of technical and commercial aspects in his company.
The ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA program was a natural choice for Bredehöft, as Mannheim Business School has been a long-standing partner for BASF and the program was recommended to him by a number of successful colleagues.
His personal highlight? The residencies at partner business schools in Europe and Asia, but also the overall diversity of the class, which further added to the international scope of the program.
And Bredehöft benefits from his Executive MBA experience daily: "I am a better manager thanks to the program, as it has enhanced my understanding of business imperatives. It has also been a great preparation for my current job, which I took on shortly upon graduation in 2009."
BASF-YPC Co., Ltd. is a 50-50 joint venture between BASF and Sinopec. The company was founded in 2000 and produces high-quality chemicals and polymers for the rapidly growing Chinese market. The site is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, where Jan Peter Bredehöft currently lives with his family.
