The community of Mannheimers came together at the Knights' Hall on December 5, 2009, to celebrate the graduation of the ESSEC & Mannheim Weekend Executive MBA Class of 2009. The keynote speech was held by Dr. Ralf Bethke, chairman of the Supervisory Board of K+S Aktiengesellschaft. Dr. Bethke, a successful and seasoned executive, shared with the audience some of his experience with and insights into "corporate management in times of crisis" and also commented on the controversial issue of top management compensation.
After a speech held by the class representatives Dr. Claudia Kiener and Dagmar Strumberger, who, above all, thanked their families and friends for their unstinting support during the last two years, Prof. Dr. Daniel Veit, Academic Director of the ESSEC & Mannheim Weekend Executive MBA, reviewed the class' progression through the program from the MBS side and then, together with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christian Homburg, President of Mannheim Business School, handed over the diploma. Mannheim Business School congratulates all successful participants who were awarded their MBA diploma and invites them to join the growing community of "Mannheimers".
